Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of SpeechNotes+. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms and to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The app

SpeechNotes+ provides on-device captions, translation, and optional study tools (summaries, cleanup, flashcards, and quizzes) from microphone audio, imported voice memos, or system audio you choose to broadcast.

Results depend on the device, language, audio quality, and Apple’s models. Transcripts and translations may contain errors. Do not rely on them as the sole record of legal, medical, safety-critical, or other high-stakes speech.

Your content

You retain rights in the audio you capture and the text the app generates for you. You are responsible for that content and for having the right to record, transcribe, and translate it (including other people’s voices and audio from other apps).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app to violate law, others’ privacy, or intellectual-property rights
• Reverse engineer the app except as allowed by law
• Attempt to bypass the free-tier limit or payment in a way Apple does not permit
• Misuse screen broadcast or captions to capture content you are not allowed to record

Free and Premium

The free tier includes a limited amount of transcription per day (currently 5 minutes, shared across sources) and does not include study AI. Premium removes that daily cap and unlocks summaries, cleanup, flashcards, and quizzes.

We may change the free allowance for future versions. Changes will not take away Premium you already paid for during an active subscription or a lifetime purchase.

Subscriptions and lifetime

Premium is sold as In-App Purchases through Apple:

• Weekly — auto-renewable subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews each week unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Yearly — auto-renewable subscription, billed once per year, same renewal and cancellation rules.
• Lifetime — one-time non-consumable purchase. It does not auto-renew.

Prices shown in the app are set in App Store Connect and may vary by country or currency. Your Apple ID is charged at confirmation of purchase, and for subscriptions again within 24 hours before each renewal, at the then-current price.

Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policy, not by us directly.

Restore purchases

Use Restore Purchases to re-enable Premium on another device signed in with the same Apple ID. Lifetime and active subscriptions restore this way. We cannot restore purchases made on a different Apple Account.

Downloads

Language packs come from Apple. An optional on-device AI model may download from Hugging Face. You are responsible for network charges. Keep the app open while a required download finishes.

Disclaimer

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free captions, translation, or study output.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR TEN U.S. DOLLARS (US$10), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some places do not allow these limits. In those places, our liability is limited to the greatest extent allowed.

Termination

You may stop using the app at any time. We may stop offering the app or change features. Subscriptions already paid remain subject to Apple’s rules until they expire or you cancel.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. If you continue using the app after an update, you accept the new Terms.
